On World Anti-War Day, the focus is "We stand with Ukraine".
Russia must withdraw all troups from all territories it unlawfully occupies as a result of the war it has been waging since 2014 in Ukraine.
At the same time, our film selection shine a light on past wars. Some of them still have an enormous impact on the collective memory in Europe today, and beyond. But many wars have little presence in the public attention and memory.
The films we present speak of the devastation and hubris of war, and of the long shadow that every war casts over generations. They make visible the suffering of the victims and their struggle to be seen, and to heal. Some also explore the side of the aggressors. In their totality, the films show that peace, humanity and dignity are precious goods.
